Why renovate the bathroom and laundry together?
Booking the rooms as separate jobs means two rounds of demolition, deliveries, trades and clean-up. Running them as one project lets the plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing and tiling follow one plan.
At the on-site measure, we work out whether the rooms should run together or one after the other so a wet area can stay usable where the layout allows. The written scope names the sequence before work starts.
Each room is priced against the same Basic, Standard and Premium room-size packages as a standalone bathroom, starting from $18,000 on Basic. Most combined programs run four to six weeks, depending on whether the rooms are next to each other or in different parts of the home.
Both rooms are waterproofed to AS 3740 and certified separately. Every job is carried out under NSW Builder Licence 475204C and has a 10-year workmanship warranty.
What does the written scope cover?
These are the core stages across our packages. The fittings and tile coverage change by tier; the sequence and written responsibility for the work do not.
- Planning and design
- Demolition — floor protection, disconnection and removal of existing fittings, floor and wall tiles including old cement bedding, and complete off-site rubbish removal
- Electrical — safe disconnection, replacement power points and light switch
- Plumbing — safe disconnection and installation of new fittings
- Render or re-sheet walls
- Waterproofing to AS 3740 — primer plus two coats, certificate included
- Tiling — new screed to create falls to drains, all glues, tile trims, grouts and silicone
- Final clean before handover

Frequently asked questions about bathroom + laundry renovations
Can the bathroom and laundry be done at different times?
Yes, if you'd rather sequence them than run them in parallel. That is one advantage of booking them as a single project — you can keep one room usable while the other is offline, then swap, rather than losing both wet areas in the house at once.
Is a combined job cheaper than two separate renovations?
Usually, yes. One mobilisation, one demolition window and one waterproofing inspection trail instead of two save real money and time compared with running the same work as two projects months apart — the exact saving depends on the layout and how much plumbing the two rooms share.
Does my washing machine need its own water supply?
No. It connects to dedicated washer taps with isolation valves, off the same hot and cold supply as the rest of the wet area, installed and certified by a licensed plumber to AS/NZS 3500.
Does laundry waterproofing have to meet the same standard as a bathroom?
Yes. Under AS 3740, any room with a floor waste and a water supply is a wet area — which almost every laundry is — so the membrane requirements and certification are the same as for a bathroom.
What is the typical timeline for a combined bathroom-and-laundry project?
Four to six weeks on site for most Sydney homes. Adjacent rooms sharing a wall are quicker and cheaper to renovate together; rooms in different parts of the house take longer because the trades are managing two work fronts.
